Mark Metaxas
After attending Colorado College and serving in the
US Army, Mark spent three years learning the Real Estate
business from the largest independently owned Real Estate
company in the country.
In June of 1979, Mark became a loan officer in Hunterdon
County, and during his six year tenure in that position,
he originated over $200
million in mortgages for approximately 2,000
families. Mark subsequently became a Vice President/Branch
Manager for a major mortgage banker in upstate New York-
a position he held for five years. During that time,
Mark was responsible for originating nearly $1.4
Billion in mortgages for 15,000 families. In
1992 Mark moved to Philadelphia when he was promoted
to a Regional Vice Presidents position. He was
responsible for an additional $5
billion in loan volume and propelled his firm
to market leadership in his region.
Mark recognized however, that the national company
was more product than market driven, and was frustrated
that he was not able to consistently tailor his products
to his clients unique needs. He also felt that
this was a function of his employers size, which
limited their flexibility in tailoring client-driven
solutions. Seizing the opportunity to build on his prior
successes and to capitalize on this need for a market
driven, locally owned and operated mortgage company
focused on the unique needs of the Philadelphia market,
Mark founded Corridor Mortgage in 1996 which merged with First American Mortgage in 2005.
First American continues to
hone its culture to ensure it is a market leader in
product selection and service.
Mark currently resides in Yardley, PA. He is married
with three daughters and one grandson. In his spare
time, Mark enjoys golfing and hunting.
